Face Piercings at Medical Tattoo Centers of America

Customize your look with any type of facial jewelry you can imagine! At Medical Tattoo Centers of America, we specialize in all forms of dermal and oral piercings. Some of the most popular options include:

Nose Piercings

Nose piercings are available in many forms and orientations. You can choose from:

Septum Piercings

This type of piercing passes directly through the septum, which is the piece of cartilage that divides the nose into the left and right nostrils.

Nostril Piercings

Nostril piercings sit just below the crease of the nose and can be performed as single, double, or paired piercings. A double piercing involves two small studs placed next to one another on the same nostril, while a paired piercing involves one stud in each nostril, placed directly across from one another.

High Nostril Piercings

This type of nose piercing is placed slightly above the crease of the nose. You can opt for a single or paired high nostril piercing.

Bridge Piercings

Also known as an Erl, this type of piercing passes through the skin on the bridge of the nose and features a small, horizontal barbell.

Eyebrow Piercings

Eyebrow piercings are available as singles and multiples and can be oriented vertically or horizontally, either through the eyebrow tissue or near the top or bottom of the eyebrow.

Teardrop or anti-eyebrow piercings, as well as T-piercings and spiral piercings, are all unique ways to express your creativity.

Oral and Lip Piercings

Facial piercings both in and around the mouth are commonly referred to as oral piercings, and they’re available in several types and orientations.

You can choose from:

Philtrum piercing

This piercing, also known as the Medusa, sits in the small, vertical indentation of the upper lip, called the philtrum.

Tongue piercing

Traditional tongue piercings sit in the center of the tongue, just between the muscles on the left and right sides. Muscular tongue piercings sit in the muscle on either side of the tongue and are often performed in left-right pairings.

Upper or lower lip piercing

There are more than a dozen different lip piercing variations and they can be performed as singles, double, or multiples. Popular orientations include the outer corner of the upper or lower lip, Labret piercings, side Labret, Lowbret piercings, the Madonna, and several others.

Cheek piercing

This type of dermal piercing tends to have the most challenging healing experience and is best suited to individuals who have previous experience with oral piercings. Typically, cheek piercings sit either in the dimples or where the dimples would be located if there are none. Dermal cheekbone piercings are also available.

Facial Piercing Aftercare and Healing Time

While every patient’s reaction to facial and oral piercings is unique, most of these piercings require about three to six months to heal completely.

Post-piercing pain can vary considerably depending on your pain tolerance and previous piercing experience. Your provider will send you home with complete aftercare instructions to ensure you’re able to care for your new piercing properly, avoid infection, and minimize healing time.

If you have any concerns about your candidacy for any of the piercings we offer, please schedule a consultation to discuss your questions with one of our medically licensed providers.
