At Medical Tattoo & Cosmetic Centers of America, we offer VI Peels, one of the newest and most effective peel formulations on the market.

  • Minimal discomfort, maximum results. VI Peels are a highly effective yet conservative skin resurfacing treatment. They combine the strongest and most effective acids while producing very little discomfort and requiring minimal downtime.
  • Safe for all skin types. The VI Peel is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types and is gentle enough to address delicate areas of the face where other peels cannot be applied.
  • Treat multiple skin concerns. Whether you’re looking for a chemical peel for acne, melasma, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, or signs of aging, there’s a VI Peel formulation designed specifically for your needs.
What Is a VI Peel?

The VI Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel that penetrates through the top layer of the skin (the epidermis) to reach the dermis beneath.

Its blend of retinoic acid, trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, minerals, vitamin C, and other skin-nourishing ingredients is formulated to provide gentle resurfacing while stimulating collagen production, soothing inflammation, brightening the skin, and encouraging cell turnover.

Signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, acne, and several other skin issues can all be treated using this unique peel designed to address skin conditions other chemical peels aren’t specifically formulated to treat.

The VI Peel is gentle enough to be applied to even the most delicate areas of the face, delivers noticeable results within seven days of application, and involves minimal discomfort and downtime after treatment.

VI Peels is available in several formulations to address various skin concerns. Your skincare provider can recommend the most appropriate formulation for your unique needs.

VI Peel Before & After

What Is a Chemical Peel Good For?

Chemical peels, VI Peels specifically, offer a wide variety of benefits for anyone with aging skin, acne-prone skin, hyperpigmentation, melasma, or sun-damaged skin.

Their unique blend of skin-smoothing acids and retinols, as well as skin-nourishing vitamins and minerals, can help improve or reduce the appearance of:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation, discoloration, and dullness
  • Melasma
  • Sun damage, including sunspots and age spots
  • Keratosis pilaris
  • Acne and acne scarring
  • Oily skin
  • Loss of elasticity
  • Rough texture
How Long Does a Chemical Peel Last?

The VI Peel takes about 30 minutes to administer and results from a single treatment will likely last anywhere from three to four months.

About three days after the procedure, your skin will begin to peel, and that process can last for approximately three to seven days.

The length of time your results will last depends on the way you care for your skin daily. Minimizing sun exposure and maintaining your skin health with a personalized skin care regimen will help your VI Peel results last as long as possible.

How Often Should You Get Chemical Peels?

Depending on your unique skin concerns, you may require multiple chemical face peels to achieve the results you’re looking for. Someone who needs a chemical peel for acne may require a different treatment frequency than someone who needs a chemical peel for melasma or hyperpigmentation.

Your provider will determine the appropriate frequency of treatment for your unique needs. Generally speaking, though, you can get a VI Peel as frequently as every four to six weeks to address acute skin concerns since it's very gentle.

As a preventative or maintenance treatment, VI Peels are typically performed every three to four months.

Chemical Peels vs. Microneedling

Although both chemical peels and microneedling are effective treatments for improving skin tone, texture, clarity, and vibrance, peels are generally better for addressing superficial skin concerns.

Because the VI Peel is a medium-depth peel, it doesn’t penetrate as deeply as microneedling, but it also doesn’t involve as much post-treatment discomfort, either.

If you have deeper skin concerns you’d like to address, it may be beneficial to combine both treatments for long-lasting results. Microneedling first will provide deep rejuvenation and skin healing. Once your microneedling treatments are complete, a medium-depth chemical peel can further reinvigorate the skin and maintain its smoother, more vibrant, more youthful appearance.
